PlayStation 5 adding way to save power when charging controllers, but only for latest PS5 model

Sony has detailed its a fresh wave of PlayStation 5 features set to be tested as part of its next system software beta update.

This will include “adaptive charging”, designed to save power if you have plugged in controllers to charge while your console is in rest mode.

The feature can monitor charge levels in any plugged-in pads and adjust the power supplied to their connected USB ports appropriately.

Capcom celebrates Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess launch with traditional Japanese theatre show

To celebrate today’s launch of Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess, Capcom has released a video performance of a traditional Japanese theatre show detailing its story.

It’s performed by the National Bunraku Theatre, an Osaka-based company celebrating its 40th anniversary this year. Bunraku theatre combines narrative recitation, puppetry, and music, dating back to the Edo period from 1603 to 1868.

The performance is a tribute to the new game, which is steeped in Japanese folklore.

Newly-revealed RPG Threads of Time will compete with Sea of Stars as Chrono Trigger spiritual successor

Threads of Time is a newly revealed retro style RPG described as a spiritual successor to the Square Enix classic Chrono Trigger.
The game was shown today by Xbox at the Tokyo Game Show, and is being developed by Canadian studio Riyo Games.
This is the studio’s first game, though its developers have experience from Shovel Knight, Fortnite, Deltarune, and Tomb Raider. What’s more, development has been aided by “legendary developers and composers” from the Xenoblade Chronicles and Mana series.
