Alan Wake 2’s composer Petri Alanko has teased some pretty emotional-sounding stuff for the game’s upcoming DLC, The Lake House.
In a handful of social media posts shared over the weekend, Alanko said he was editing vocals for the DLC, calling it “by far the hardest thing I’ve ever run into”. And why is that? Well, it is because the composer is being constantly brought to tears by his work.

Sony has detailed its a fresh wave of PlayStation 5 features set to be tested as part of its next system software beta update.
This will include “adaptive charging”, designed to save power if you have plugged in controllers to charge while your console is in rest mode.
The feature can monitor charge levels in any plugged-in pads and adjust the power supplied to their connected USB ports appropriately.

It’s performed by the National Bunraku Theatre, an Osaka-based company celebrating its 40th anniversary this year. Bunraku theatre combines narrative recitation, puppetry, and music, dating back to the Edo period from 1603 to 1868.
The performance is a tribute to the new game, which is steeped in Japanese folklore.

Read more Translators contracted from firms outside of Nintendo have complained about not being credited for their work on high-profile games from the Mario maker, including The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Animal Crossing: New Horizons and Super Mario RPG.
Speaking with Game Developer, anonymous sources who worked for external translator agencies on Nintendo’s projects said they had been left off credits. In addition, sources said they had been asked to sign a non-disclosure agreement which prevented them from talking about their work for 10 years.
